Nestlé Hong Kong's Community Donations in 2021
Nestlé Hong Kong is committed to delivering love and care and creating shared value (CSV) to our community. In 2021, we joint hands with several non-governmental organization (NGO), including Feeding Hong Kong and St. James' Settlement FOOD-Co, etc., to donate various Nestlé products to those in need.
Furthermore, Nestlé Hong Kong have arranged a recycling activity in collaboration with Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) and People Service Centre before 2021 Chinese New Year. The donated items have been distributed to elderlies and under-privileged families by both NGOs. This activity provided an opportunity for our colleagues who are not able to attend volunteer activities in weekdays to show their support to the community.
On the other hand, same as previous years, Nestlé Hong Kong have completed another round of computer supplies donation to Caritas Computer Workshop in October. We have donated some used yet still in good condition IT equipment to Caritas Computer Workshop so they can be reused after refurbishment in order to provide support to those in need in the community.
Nestlé Hong Kong Participates in the 2021 HK Shared Value Competition
Hong Kong Shared Good Values (HKSGV) was launched in 2016 and one of their signature annual competition is the Hong Kong Shared Good Values Case Competition, which aims to introduce and educate tertiary business students about CSV concepts and to write a business proposals which focus mainly in how to create shared value for both the participated companies and the society. There were more than 140 teams (500 students) registered for the competition which is also one of the highest participating year since launched.
As a corporate that integrates the concept of CSV into business, Nestlé Hong Kong has been invited to take part in the HKSGV Case Competition 2021 as one of the case partner. We invited university students to generate ideas to inject a happy work culture at offices while enhancing our NESCAFÉ® product's penetration among offices and/or secure long-term office orders of its coffee in Hong Kong. The Grand Finals was held successfully in mid-May and Nestlé Hong Kong, as gold sponsor and one of the case partners, are glad to hear about all the innovative ideas from five finalist teams. Some students from the finalist teams have also been rewarded a short placement in Nestlé Hong Kong after the competition.
Nestlé Hong Kong will continue to explore more ways to create shared value to the society we operate in.
