Nestlé Hong Kong’s Carbon Reduction Initiatives for Communities
Riding on Earth Day, Nestlé Hong Kong launched thematic campaigns two years in a row in April to help reduce the carbon emission in the community, namely “Nestlé for Green Future – Love for Carbon Reduction” and “Nestlé for Green Future – Continuous Love for Carbon Reduction”. During the campaign period, for each transaction in Nestlé Hong Kong eShop, Nestlé Hong Kong donated HK$20 to the non-profit-making green organization “CarbonCare InnoLab” to support its EnergyCare Programme. The Programme aimed to replace energy-saving appliances for underprivilege community, helping them to save energy and reduce their carbon footprint in daily life!
While this campaign enabled customers to enjoy Good food from Nestlé, it also supported the community in need to lead a low-carbon Good life and contributed to the sustainable development at the same time.
The campaign has supported around 70 families to replace about 225 LED light bulbs in the 2 years, enabling them to reduce around 80% carbon emission.
Planting a Greener Future
In order to celebrate the World Environmental Day and to live up to our commitment to support sustainability, the Volunteer Team of Nestlé Hong Kong organized a tree-planting activity in early Jun, which is the same-kind activity in 2 years in a row.
The activity was participated by a total of 30 volunteers who include the Nestlé Hong Kong employees and their children. They worked hard hand in hand to build a sustainable future for our city by planting around 120 trees, while riding on this opportunity to educate our next generation the importance of sustainability.
Nestlé Hong Kong's Community Support and Nutrition Donations During the Pandemic
The first few months of 2022 in Hong Kong has definitely been unprecedented with the challenge of a new wave of COVID-19 outbreak, Nestlé Hong Kong are committed to standing with the community.
To support the nutrition needs and show our care for the people in need in the society, Nestlé Hong Kong have collaborated with different local partners including Feeding Hong Kong, St James’ Settlement FOOD-CO, Dignity Kitchen and Hong Kong Church Network for the Poor, to deliver a wide range of Nestlé products, including healthy drinks, nutrition milk powder, breakfast cereal, coffee, etc, amounting to a total of over 7,500 cases, to the underprivileged.
Nestlé Hong Kong will continue to provide nutrition, health and wellness to the society and live up to our purpose which is to unlock the power of food to enhance quality of life for everyone, today and for generations to come.
