What is Creating Shared Value (CSV)?
Creating Shared Value (CSV) means a company addresses social needs while developing new business opportunities. Creating Shared Value is an integral part of the business development at Nestlé which includes compliance and sustainable development, from nutrition, water management and agricultural community development in core business areas, to optimization of the common value of our community and shareholders.
Integrating CSV into corporate strategy is fundamental to how we do business at Nestlé. We can only contribute to the long-term benefits of our shareholders by creating value for society.
Working with Diverse Partners
To amplify our impact, Nestlé Hong Kong actively collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders, including local Non-Profit Organizations, community groups, and business partners. These partnerships are essential in promoting corporate social responsibility, fostering inclusivity, and addressing the needs of vulnerable populations. Through joint initiatives, we work to build a more compassionate and equitable society.
Encouraging Volunteerism and Community Engagement
While developing business and providing consumers with healthy and delicious products, Nestlé Hong Kong is also committed to giving back to society, actively encouraging employees to participate in volunteer activities in order to help those who are in need in our community, such as the underprivileged families, students in sheltered workshops, and the elderly. We also support Hong Kong’s large-scale events that bring care to the community. At the same time, Nestlé Hong Kong also promotes the spirit of charitable donation through various nutritious or tasty food product donations and sponsorship.
Our efforts have been recognized by different organizations such as the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), which has awarded us the Caring Company designation for multiple consecutive years. We have also received accolades from the Federation of Hong Kong Industries under the Industry Cares Recognition Scheme, acknowledging our dedication to social impact.
Championing Environmental Sustainability
Environmental protection is a key pillar of our CSV strategy. Nestlé Hong Kong is committed on corporate social responsibilities in sustainable development and environmental protection. Therefore, we are committed to incorporating environmental protection into our daily operations and creating shared value in our communities. For example, we donate computers and computer accessories to local Non-Profit Organizations to reduce waste and encourage recycling, while helping the disadvantaged to integrate into the information society.
In addition, the Nestlé Hong Kong Volunteer Team also engages in environmental activities such as tree planting and coastal clean-ups every year. These initiatives are open to employees and their families, reinforcing our collective responsibility to protect the environment and build a greener future for the city we are living in.
