2024 - Nestlé Hong Kong’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Initiatives
Nestlé Hong Kong's business is rooted in the concept of Creating Shared Value (CSV), a philosophy that emphasizes the importance of generating long-term value not only for shareholders but also for society at large. In 2024, Nestlé Hong Kong continued to uphold this commitment by launching and supporting a wide range of CSR initiatives that address the nutritional, environmental, and social needs of the local community.
- Supporting the Nutritional Needs of Society
- Throughout the year, Nestlé Hong Kong demonstrated its dedication to community well-being by donating nearly 70,000 items to various charitable organizations. These items included yogurt, breakfast cereals, milk powder, culinary products, and pet food. Beneficiaries included Feeding Hong Kong, Hong Kong Church Network for the Poor, Food Angel, and Hong Kong Dog Rescue. These donations not only helped alleviate food insecurity but also contributed to reducing food waste.
- In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Nestlé Hong Kong extended its CSR by sharing its newly launched ice cream mooncakes with organizations such as St. James’ Settlement FOOD-CO, the People Service Centre, and the Hong Chi Association. This initiative brought festive joy to underprivileged communities and reinforced the company’s commitment to inclusive celebrations.

Engaging in Volunteer Work to Serve the Community
Nestlé Hong Kong’s volunteer team played an active role in community engagement throughout 2024. In April, to mark Earth Day, employees and their families joined hands with the Environmental Association for a coastal cleanup at Sam Mun Tsai in Tai Po. Despite challenging weather conditions, the volunteers demonstrated their dedication to environmental stewardship by collecting waste and raising awareness about marine pollution.
In September, ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the volunteer team hosted a mooncake baking workshop for 20 grassroots families from the North Point Happy Teens Club. This hands-on activity not only allowed participants to learn a new skill but also fostered a sense of community and celebration.
As winter approached, Nestlé volunteers collaborated with Pei Ho Counterparts to distribute hot meal boxes and goodie bags to the homeless in Sham Shui Po. This initiative provided warmth and nourishment to some of the city’s most vulnerable residents during the colder months.

Actively Promoting Sustainable Development
Sustainability remained a key focus for Nestlé Hong Kong’s CSR initiative in 2024. In the lead-up to the Lunar New Year, the company partnered with the Po Leung Kuk Yue Yiu Sun Memorial Workshop to organize an eco-recycling event. Employees donated gently used items, which were then sold at affordable prices to community members, promoting reuse and reducing waste.
In addition, Nestlé Hong Kong donated refurbished computer equipment to the Caritas Computer Workshop. These devices, still in good working condition, were redistributed to individuals and families in need, helping to bridge the digital divide and support digital inclusion.
To further promote environmental awareness, Nestlé organized an eco-guided tour of the Mai Po Nature Reserve for employees and their families. Participants gained firsthand insights into wetland conservation and the importance of biodiversity, reinforcing the company’s commitment to environmental education.
As the “Good Food, Good Life” company, Nestlé Hong Kong remains steadfast in its mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families. Through the 2024 Hong Kong CSR initiatives, the company has not only supported the community’s nutritional and social needs but also taken meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future.
